I’ve spent the past 25 years as a graphic designer creating logos, brochures, billboards and websites for small businesses and nonprofits. In my free time I try to be creative in ways that can express my full artistic vision. I write songs, design furniture and paint.

My current series of abstract paintings are inspired by feelings, longings and brief moments in time. Each painting is personal to me but (hopefully) expresses a universal truth. That way, each viewer can, through their own history and feelings, find a meaning that is unique to them.

The paintings are acrylic on plywood. I build my own canvases and incorporate pages torn from books that in many cases are "banned". It's a subtle way of adding the message that all ideas have intrinsic value and therefore beg to be heard.

Class Description

This pay what you can class will focus on accessibility, mindfulness and empowerment. Students will receive detailed alignment cues combined with self-compassion practices. Come one, come all to an hour of yoga for all skill levels at the loveliest floral design studio in the heart of Knoxville.

Instructor Bio

My aim is to teach the type of yoga class that I would want to take. Therefore, my classes have a sincere focus on affirmation, possibility, and surrender. I encourage students to dive into the emotional component of practice while also giving everything they have to the physical asana.

When students leave my class I want them to feel empowered. Taking an hour out of one’s day to practice yoga is no small feat. My desire is that students carry the strength they find on the mat out into their daily lives. This is the magic I want to facilitate in our community.
